Set on an elevated site in Havelock North with sweeping views over the Heretaunga Plains, this complex hillside home is a refined expression of Mid-Century Modern design principles reinterpreted for a contemporary New Zealand context. Anchored into challenging topography, the home steps gracefully up to the North end of the site within two coupled box forms, each carefully orientated to capture light, views, and shade.
Rigorous detailing results in clean transitions of the Stone, Accoya & STO render claddings, the core material palette. Floor to ceiling windows frame selected views and invite the surrounding landscape deep into the living spaces.
Future proofed, the home has ramped transitions between the split level floors and lift access.
